Letters to Mrs. E.H. Bigelow and Thomas W. Higginson, 1890.

The collection consists of letters pasted in an "extended" copy of "American Sonnets" edited by Bigelow and Higginson and bound for Higginson. Most of the letters give one or the other of the editors permission to use a poem in a published collection of "American sonnets." A few discuss their entries, particularly Julia P. Boynton, Louise Brooks, George S. Burleigh, Anna M. Richards, Julia Noyes Stickney. Some of the letters are accompanied by manuscripts of the selected poems including "On the Bridge at Glenn's" by Auringer; lines beginning "wise husbandmen plant trees" by Boynton; "September, 1889" by Louise Brooks; "Ocean sunrise I and II and Seaconnet at midnight" by Burleigh.
